Monthly Coalition Meeting

February 18, 2025

We had a great first monthly meeting of 2025! A summary of our discussion below:

1. New Media News: Creation of ACYC Tik Tok account. Planned and scheduled 4 new videos over the next few months.

2. New Scholarship Program: ACYC will be offering scholarships for graduating students soon! Application will be on website within the next couple weeks. Deadline to submit online application will be April 15th, 2025.

3. Guest Speakers: Kim Lyons, BA & Heidi Peavy, RN from the Cenla Pregnancy Center They are a non-profit organization with an office in Marksville, LA supporting mothers who find themselves in a circumstance of unplanned pregnancy. They offer a WIDE variety of related services. Visit them online at www.cenlapc.com

4. Additional funding is available through Central Louisiana Human Services District for Avoyelles & surrounding areas.

5. Gulf Coast Services offering Youth Mental Health services. They are providing new “mobile” services.

6. Ready 2 Roll Driving Academy LLC of Marksville, LA will be hosting Driving school Association of Louisiana General conference and safety meeting held at Paragon Casino Resort May 7th. This meeting will bring driving schools, Office of Motor Vehicles, elected officials, and safety coalitions from across the state together to bring awareness driving safety.

7. The Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living / Louisiana Public Health Institute (LPHI) will be hosting a “Central Louisiana Vaping Town Hall”

8. CenLa Healthy Start will be hosting events on February 27 & 28, 2025 for Mom Support group. More info in separate post:
